I Finally Show Kobe Bryant Some Love December 24, 2007

 Cheer up Kobe, It’s all love this time
If you’ve been a frequent reader of All Talk Sports, you know that I’m not a fan of Kobe Bryant. For those who are unaware of this fact, just check out my 4 part series entitled My Beef with Kobe. Sure, I may have been somewhat harsh on Kobe in the past, but the day has finally come for me to show Kobe some love.
On Sunday, with the Lakers facing the New York Knicks, Bryant became the youngest player in NBA history to reach 20,000 points. Bryant led the Lakers to victory, defeating the Knicks 95-90. Bryant’s 39 points not only helped give the Lakers a win, but also marked a monumental achievement for the superstar.
At the age of 29 years and 122 days, Bryant replaced Wilt Chamberlain as the youngest to reach the 20,000 point mark. Chamberlain was age 29 years, 134 days when he reached the milestone. Bryant is only the 31st player to reach 20,000 points.                                               Â
This is yet another remarkable acheivement for Kobe Bryant. He seems to get better and better every season, and is destined to be one of the all time greats in NBA history. At age 29, Bryant has at least 5 more good years to further etch his name in the history books. I’m really curious to see where he will rank among the all time greats when his career is over.
So there you have it. I know it’s not much, but All Talk Sports has finally shown Kobe Bryant some love. I don’t know if this has something to do with me being all caught up in the Christmas spirit, but this is something I thought would never happen. Nevertheless, congratulations Kobe.

Glad youre back you were missed !! No one will ever deny this kids talent. Its the intangibles that fans will always question. Not trashing youre teamates,being a leader on the court as well as off. Not fighting your battles through the media. I can only hope that he matures before he retires. As far as pure talent he’s up there with Jordan.
Glad to be back K.C. The whole intangible thing is what I try to preach to the Kobe lovers out there. My issues with Kobe has never been about talent, it’s about him not being selfish. As great as Kobe is talent wise, he needs to work on being a leader and a better teammate.
Glad to read some real sports articles again. Merry Christmas. I wonder if you can do a college football bowl game prediction article. It would definitely be interesting.

Marquis, good to have you back and givin’ it up for Kobe. Like it or not, he’s put his head down this year and pushed straight ahead into the season like a pro should. Have been very impressed with his game on and off the court. We’ll see how the rest of the year plays out – should be interesting for both he and All Talk Sports.
It’s good to be back Sportsattitude. I had to give Kobe some love after all the beef I had with him in the past. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the Lakers do in the playoffs. Can’t wait.
Remember sports fans character is how you treat your teammates every day in practice and beyond. Not when you are “miked up” and on camera every minute in the feature game on A.B.C…..Still a tremendous talent. Starting to see some signs of maturity hope is genuine…..
Well, i never did like kobe and probably, i never will..
No one can deny kobe’s basketball talent. Arguably, he is the best one-on-one basketball player in the NBA and probably the best offensive player in the league but i still don’t like him.. I’ve always thought of kobe as a selfish player but i have to admit that he has changed a bit this season, but it still doesn’t change anything for me.. I still don’t like him and i would still dislike him in the future. i feel the same way with you marquis, kobe deserves some respect and admiration for his accomplishments, but we will always have beef
