The NBA’s Punching Bag October 2, 2007

If you go to youtube and search for your favorite NBA player’s highlights, there is a very good chance that your favorite player will be dunking on the man pictured below.

Shawn Bradley

His name is Shawn Bradley, and for 16 seasons he was the NBA’s punching bag.  No player in the history of the NBA has been dunked on and posterized as much as Bradley has.  Standing 7’6” and weighing a very slender 275 pounds, Bradley was expected to be a shot blocker, but was never really that good at it, as he consistently got dunked on by quite a few players in the league.

Whenever I turned on a game and saw Bradley playing, my eyes would light up because I just knew that there was going to be an amazing dunk.  It would happen almost everytime he stepped on the court.  After a while, I kind of wished that Bradley would just stop trying to block dunks, because I was somewhat embarrassed for him, but there was just no quit in him.  Here is a list of some of the players that have posterized Shawn Bradley during his career:

  • Kobe Bryant

  • Robert Pack

  • Yao Ming

  • Donnell Marshall

  • Cuttino Mobley

  • Kevin Garnett (numerous times)

  • Tracy McGrady (numerous times)

  • Chris Webber (numerous times)

  • Eddie Jones (numerous times in the same game)

  • Shaquille O’neal (too many times to count)

  • Keon Clark

  • Penny Hardaway

  • Derek Anderson

  • Jason Richardson

  • Derek Fisher

hahahaha… oh god… Bradley should just stand, as he does, hold up a basket for 4 quarters and call it a day…. 7’6”!?…. AND YOU GET DUNKED ON!? unbelievable…

Not just dunked on.. Posterized

Not a bad college player at B.Y.U. the number # 2 pick in the 93 draft. Never lived up to his potential, but worked hard all of his career. He did get dunked on a lot.

I’d say thsi calls for a top five worst number one picks in the NBA draft. To start the conversation off I ask who was worse, Kwame Brown or Bradley?

5. coolmar100 - October 3, 2007

oops my bad…=( thought he was a number one pick. Forgot he was just number one for the sixers x_x Disregard my comment.

6. Marquis Chapman - October 3, 2007

#1 Pick or not, I just don’t understand how you can get dunked on so many times in your career.

7. fouledout - October 10, 2007

coolmar100 — kwame brown is a huge crap. yeah, shawn bradley got posterized a lot lot of times in his career, but personally, i think he’s still better than kwame brown. lol

8. fouledout - October 10, 2007

derek fisher posterized shawn bradley..? unbelievable..! lol..!

9. Marquis Chapman - October 10, 2007

Yeah, Derek Fisher dunked on Shawn Bradley and I would definitely take Bradley over Kwame Brown. Kwame can’t even catch the ball.

certainly like your web site but you need to take a look at the spelling on quite a few of your posts.
Several of them are rife with spelling problems and I
find it very bothersome to inform the truth however I will certainly
come again again.
