Travis Henry Tests Positive for Marijuana October 4, 2007

Posted by Marquis Chapman in Football, NFL, Sports.

First Vick, and now Travis Henry has tested positive for marijuana.  Henry, the Broncos leading rusher, faces a one year suspension from the NFL due to a positive test of the banned substance.

In 2005, Henry served a four game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy as a member of the Tennessee Titans.

Henry is attempting to  block the NFL from testing the B Sample that is needed to confirm the positive test because he states that the NFL would not let his expert be present for the testing. The conflict between Henry and the NFL has reached federal court.

Henry made headlines on All Talk Sports in August, when reports surfaced of Henry having nine children with nine different women. Although making millions in the NFL, the reports stated that he was unable to come up with the money to pay the child support.

Henry not only let his team down, but also let his family down.  I don’t think Henry or his nine children can afford to miss an entire year’s worth of pay.

It never does. I just don’t think he gets it.

Man, I posted this story on my blog this morning.. Its a damn shame that athletes have not learned anything from what Michael Vick, and Ricky Williams have gone thru.. Then I found the billboard that a group in Denver has put up for showing Ricky Williams some love to get him to come to Denver if he is allowed to come back to the league! *shakes head*

Do guys like this feel any shame or embarrassment? Does he have any contact or interaction with these nine kids? I wonder what he could possibly say to any of them about anything that they will take seriously given the example he’s setting. Going to your teammates to borrow money to meet child support payments should have made him sink to the lowest level and given him a wake up call. No morals and no manhood. Doesn’t say much for the mothers of these nine children either. Carelessly bringing these children into the world and acting irresponsibly jeopardizing their future is just selfish and down right dumb. How embarrassing for these kids to learn later in life, if they don’t know now, that their dad had to borrow money from teammates on their behalf. Let’s hope that these children don’t follow their parent’s example. Henry has become a member of the NFL (National Felony League) and the Dead Beat Dad Hall of Shame!
