What Were Some of Your Most Memorable Sports Moments of 2007? December 31, 2007

As the new year approaches, many sports sites have been writing about the most memorable sports moments of 2007.  My most memorable sports moment of 2007 would have to be the Michael Vick fiasco.  I just couldn’t believe such a young, talented player like that could throw his career away. I just can’t figure out why he would decide to organize a dog fighting ring and risk losing his freedom, career, and respect.

Another memorable moment, and a much more happier one at that,  would have to be the New England Patriots going undefeated this year. Although they had their fair share of controversy, that was a remarkable achievement by the Pats. Thanks to the Pats, 2007 marked the end of the ’72 Dolphins hating on any team that came close to their sacred record.

2007 gave us sports fans some very memorable moments.  Some were good, and some were absolutely awful.  What were some of your most memorable sports moments of 2007?

most memorable… i’m gonna go with mr. bonds tying and breaking the home run record, 755 then 756 and the drama surrounding the tie-breaking ball haha… also sadly, i think i will always be dissapointed in miss marion jones after coming out of the steroids closet, such an inspiration and role model, ironically broken by weakness… lastly, more than bonds and jones, i will never forget the day i came across All Talk Sports haha. thanx ALL TALK!!! happy new year!

The Gators winning the National Championship about 360 something days ago this year in football. Oh wait, we also won the National Championship in basketball also in April. The mitchell report was also some good stuff.

Big moment for me was the Colts finally getting over the hump. I was just very pleased for Tony Dungy.

I think Florida repeating as the National hoop champs was a truly memorable, outstanding achievement. The Vick situation certainly was the most shocking thing to happen in sports in ’07. Yet, as much as I hate Bill Belichick, the Patriots running the table in the NFL in the manner they did has to be my most memorable sports moment of the year. 16-0 is something I never thought I would ever see.

I’m surprised (Especially Marquis) that no one has said anything about the NBA and the refs cheating/gambling.

7. Shea - January 1, 2008

Coming from a biased standpoint, my most memorable sports moment would be the Chicago Bears making it to the Super Bowl (although subsequently losing). Aside from that, I’ll remember Don Imus’ politically incorrect slur, Michael Vick’s dogfighting scandal, the Patriots running the table, and the Rockies defying the odds and advancing to the World Series. Here’s hoping that 2008 brings us as many memorable, if not more positive, moments in sports.
